Red-tailed Hawk (Buteo jamaicensis)

The Red-tailed Hawk has a body length of 45 to 58 centimeters and a wingspan 107-141 cm. Males are smaller than females. He has broad, rounded wings and a much stronger bill than the rough-legged buzzard. The red-tailed hawks live in forests adjacent open space, prairie with trees, including deserts.

They eat only meat, such as mice and small rodents. But they attack snakes. Red-tailed hawks do not eat grains or someone else.

The Red-tailed Hawk is common in many parts of North and Central America. In the north, the area of distribution extends to the polar regions of the United States and Canada. In the south, Mexico, Central America and much of the Caribbean islands are inhabited.
