description of the animal

Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias)

Information:

The great blue heron is a kind of bird. It reaches a height of about 130 cm and is the biggest heron of the north-american continent. So its natural habitat is canada. When it is winter they prefer warmer regions like the south of der U.S. or Mexico. They live near the lakes and are able to reproduce very often.

Great blue herons affect fish, frogs and other aquatic animals as their food. Great blue herons are matutinal and nocturnal, and that are also the times they hunt quite alone for food.

Characteristic for their exterior is their big beak and of course their spindly-legs.
