As the biggest cat of the north- and south-american continent the jaguars do not have to be afraight of any other predators: They are the limiting factor of all the other animals living in their habitat.

They reach a length of up to 180 cm adding their tail, which is 50 cm long, approximately. Jaguars prefer living in the Amazon Basin but also in middle america and in the south in argentina for example.

They prefer animal food like reptiles and turtles, who are in a huge amount to find in the rain forrest. Deer are also on their diet very often. Jaguars are solitaries and have a lifespan of 12 years. Because of theit spottet coat, jaguars of often hunted by humans.

The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora protects the jaguars of becoming extinct.
