The Naked Mole Rat (Heterocephalus glaber) has a very special look which they need to adapt to their life underground. They don’t have any fur which make them stand out very much and also expounds their name. They are very small, wrinkly and have tiny eyes which result in a very poor vision. But their legs are perfectly fine for moving fast underground.
The Naked Mole Rat is adapted to living in Ethiopia, Somalia and also Kenya. They prefer drier grounds.
Their primarily food consists of tubers of various types of plants. They can’t really digest the entire tuber so they eat the once eaten and secreted tuber again.
Their social skills are very well-marked and also outstanding. Naked Mole Rats share their food and work with others of their colony. Also a queen reigns over their tribe.
